Dead Teen’s Mother Pleads For Justice

The mother of Traci Genereaux has issued a statement regarding today’s bail hearing decision for Curtis Wayne Sagmoen.

Sagmoen is accused of assaulting two women working as online escorts last year.

In a statement sent to CJIB news, Lori Nixon says she prays that Sagmoen is refused bail – quote- “that justice removes its blinds and actually serves the public for once.”

She goes on to say – quote – ” I hope that we are able to save those whom yet have not come in contact with Curtis and that they never get the chance to. I pray that the families of the other missing women find peace.”

Eighteen year old Traci Genereaux’s remains were found on Sagmoen’s family’s farm near Salmon Arm last October.

But none of the charges against him is related to that.

The RCMP continue to say they are investigating her death, but have made no link to Curtis Sagmoen.

Thirty-seven year old Sagmoen is facing nine criminal charges, and one under the controlled drugs and substances act, for alleged offences that occurred near Falkland last summer.

Several protesters are expected to be at the provincial courthouse in Vernon this afternoon to rally on the steps.

Sagmoen is set to appear at 2 p.m.

The Mother of Traci Generaux the 18 year old who’s human remains had this to say about the Sagmoen bail hearing tomorrow: “I pray today that Curtis is refused bail and that justice removes its blinds and actually serves the public for once. I hope that we are able to save those whom yet have not come in contact with Curtis and that they never get the chance to. I pray that the families of the other missing women find peace. I pray that Traci’s death is not for nothing and that her body being found is better to enable the other women who have survived his grasp to appreciate their lives. Traci loved people and loved to help. I feel that this is her last chance and I want justice to for once work for her not as it has failed her so many times before. For once let Traci be shown justice is more than the sick, disgusting money game; which it is. I want for once for there to be consequences for the accused actions not justice based on who can afford the better lawyer; even though we all know there truly is not this kind of justice. I feel the failure of our system at least owes her that. There is a rash of putrid women killings going on currently in the public’s eyes. How is it possible that these human filth can murder so many women and for it to go unnoticed and fancy free? Is it not time to look at these 1960’s laws for missing people? We need to act sooner. We no longer live in the days that people did not have cell phones to call home, those days are over. Now anyone walking by can lend someone a cell phone. Therefore this excuse to shame the missing person is bullshit. Or is it if they don’t want to be shamed they better damn well toss a text out or call home? This wait time is what killed Traci. I am certain that she was dead before an alert came out; those precious days lost to stupidity. I don’t think I will ever heal. We loved her so much. There isn’t an aspect of my life that she wasn’t a part of. I feel as though I have been ripped apart. I pray Curtis never gets out. I will be watching the outcome. I should be spending time with her; and I am not. Now, I have nothing but time.
