RDNO Directors Agree to Transit Service Cost Adjustment

RDNO directors have given formal approval to an adjustment in cost sharing for transit service.

The city of Armstrong requested a review, feeling it’s percentage of the cost for the 871 Vernon to Enderby , Vernon to Lumby service was too much.

RDNO Board Chair Bob Fleming says Armstrong had been stuck for years at roughly a 25 per cent share.

“There has been since 2008 no mechanism for review of those rates. So that means for nine years they’ve been locked in at what they are and the feeling was ridership and use has changed over time.”
