Power Restored To Thousands

Nov 2, 2017 | 1:35 PM

UPDATE

BC Hydro has restored power to thousands of customers who were without  service in the North Okanagan and Shuswap.

Hydro’s Dag Sharman told us earlier, it was affecting mostly Armstrong and Spallumcheen.

“It’s on the transmission line, which is why it’s causing an outage to so many customers. Right now there are 7-thousand-858 Hydro customers out because of that transmission outage.”

Part of that has now been repaired, but there re still 28-hundred customers in Spallumcheen Armstrong and Vernon without service.

Power is out for a wide area of the North Okanagan.

According to BC Hydro’s website, about 10,000 customers are impacted due to “transmission circuit failure” which occurred just after 1 pm.

BC Hydro saws a crew has been assigned to the issue which is affecting customers in Vernon, Coldstream, Spallumcheen and Armstrong.
