Paving Project Creates Detours

Drivers should be prepared for delays and detours around Lumby the next few days.

Crews will be paving the Vernon Street and Shuswap Avenue intersection along with South Shuswap Avenue starting Wednesday and continuing to Friday.

The village says it could result in detours around the intersection, intermittent road closures and alternating traffic through the areas.

Shuswap Avenue will be closed from the bridge at Whitevale Road to Vernon Street/Shuswap Avenue at 8:30am.

Traffic will be re-routed to Whitevale Road and Dure Meadow Road.

Shuswap Avenue will be open to local traffic only, and business access may be limited to foot traffic only.
