A crash in Vernon that killed two women in 2016, has resulted in 12 charges against the alleged driver.

Travis Dustin Fox of Armstrong — born in 1995 — made his first court appearance today, charged with impaired driving causing death and bodily harm, and criminal negligence causing death and bodily harm.

The other charges are causing an accident resulting in death and bodily harm.

His case returns to court Nov. 23rd.

A crew-cab pickup truck went off Highway 6 near Waddington Drive and rolled in March 2016, killing 20 year old passengers Carlee De Boer of Grindrod and Paige Whitelaw of Ladysmith.

Police say there were five people in the truck.

Mounties say it took a year andĀ half to lay charges in the case, as they were waiting for lab results on the driver.
