North Westside Review Completed

A service review has been completed of the North Westside area of the Central Okangan Regional District.

RDCO spokesman Bruce Smith says EcoPlan International spent four months of research and consultation with stakeholders, and provided several considerations for the board.

“Primarily in three areas: one was improving communications. The second one was looking at establishing a platform or channel for regular dialogue with residents of the North Westside,” Smith tells Kiss FM.

A detailed assessment of service areas and the costs was the third consideration.

“The board has referred this report and the considerations to staff and they’ll be presenting a further report back to the board on options the board may want to consider to move forward.”

The director for North Westside, Wayne Carson, has said residents wanted the review to get the facts to make an informed decision on whether they should become their own municipality.
