Update: Police Search Farm Property

UPDATE 4pm

A search of a North Okanagan farming property is expected to take some time to complete.

RCMP from across southeastern BC have been combing over a site on Salmon River Road, west of Enderby, since Thursday.

“I don’t have a date of when the warrant expires.  It’s a “sealed warrant,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk tells Kiss FM.

Moskaluk says officers from around the region are at the site.

“A large number of assets and resources from the Vernon North Okanagan and Southeast District  are being utilized.”

Global News says officers have been searching a home, some outbuildings and trailers on the property, and using an excavator,  shovels and rakes to dig up parts of the site.

Police aren’t saying what they’re looking for, only that its part of an ongoing investigation, leading to speculation it may involve some missing persons cases.

Oct 19: UPDATE 1 pm:

RCMP say they searching a property in the 2200 block of Salmon River Road in the Silver Creek area, west of Enderby.

Corporal Dan Moskaluk says the operation and execution of a search warrant is in relation to an ongoing investigation.

“No further information is being released at this time in order to ensure the integrity of the ongoing investigation,” says Moskaluk.

The search is focused on a farm property.

RCMP say they will have details out shortly on a large police presence in the Silver Creek area west of Enderby.

Corporal Dan Moskaluk tells Kiss FM he is working on the details.

Media reports say the police have established a staging area at the Silver Creek Community Hall, with a number of police vehicles in the vicinity.
