Vegas Golden Knights Emotional Home Opener

In a unified show of respect, the visiting Dallas Stars formed a line behind players from the Vegas Golden Knights to honour victims of last weekend’s mass shooting.

The show of support happened during the national anthem. This was the home debut of the first major pro sports franchise in Las Vegas.

It was also an emotional night for the Stars as they  honoured a staff member killed in a car accident,  as well as a tribute to their legendary play by play announcer Dave Strader who passed away of illness the same day as the Vegas shooting.
