Vernon Chamber hopes new provincial government addresses key economic priorities
The local non-partisan agency that advocates for local business is hoping to see the new provincial government take actions that bolster the North Okanagan’s economy.
The Conservative Party of B.C. was elected into office in the fall vote, and Sonja Harkness, Executive Director of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce, said her agency was ready to work with the province on key priorities for the area.
“[Those priorities focus] around business affordability, housing, workforce availability, and economic investment,” Harkness told Vernon Matters.
“There may be opportunities ahead, but much will depend on how new policies are implemented and how the regional communities are included in those decisions.”
