One injured in Vancouver neighbourhood after 25 e-bike riders disrupt Halloween

Nov 3, 2026 | 11:15 AM

VANCOUVER — Police in Vancouver are issuing a warning to youth riding electric dirt bikes on city streets after multiple families on Halloween night reported a group of two dozen riders driving dangerously in their neighbourhood.

Police say Halloween in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood culminated with one youth evading an officer, going speeds of up to 60 kilometres an hour on an e-dirt bike before crashing with another vehicle.

The 15-year-old rider was alleged to have run through several stop signs and refused to stop for police before the crash, and he was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation and charges have not been recommended in the case.

Police patrolling Kerrisdale that night had already reported being flagged down by families, who told officers that a group of about 25 riders “dressed in similar costumes” had been driving dangerously in the area and nearly hitting pedestrians.

Vancouver police are reminding riders that e-dirt bikes are designed for off-road use and not allowed on public streets.
