Coldstream’s next Mayor and Council will be sworn into office next week.

The special meeting will see Mayor Ruth Hoyte sworn in along with Councillors Dionne Lane, Jim Garlick, Scot McNair, Doug Dirk, Josiah Pulst and Jeremy Levy.

The inaugural meeting will not see any municipal matters discussed, but will see a number of appointments made, with staff recommending the following

  • Signing authority: Hoyte, Garlick, Lane
  • Regional District of North Okanagan Board: Hoyte (member), Garlick (alternate)
  • Greater Vernon Advisory Committee: Hoyte (member), Garlick (alternate), Dirk and McNair (alternates-at-large)
  • Regional Agricultural Advisory Committee: Lane (member)
  • Okanagan Regional Library Board: Levy (member), Pulst (alternate)
  • Municipal Insurance Association B.C. Voting Delegate: Hoyte (delegate), Pulst (alternate)

These appointment will each be for a one year period, with the exception of the Insurance Association where the appointment will last for the entire term. That role will also see the member take part in the Union of B.C. Municipalities’ convention.

The swearing-in will be held at Coldstream’s Municipal at 6 p.m. Monday, November 2, and will be open for the public to attend.
