Lorne Doerkson is meeting party supporters ahead of Saturday’s provincial general voting day

B.C. Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson is bringing his campaign to Kelowna tonight, meeting with party candidates from across the Okanagan and local supporters ahead of Saturday’s provincial general voting day.

The event is scheduled for 7 to 8:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19. Organizers have described it as a meet-and-greet, with media attendance limited to a photo opportunity.

The gathering comes during the final stretch of the provincial election campaign, as parties make their case to voters before general voting day on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Doerkson and the B.C. Conservatives have campaigned on affordability and economic growth, including a proposed annual income tax cut of $1,000 for individual workers. The party has also outlined measures aimed at accelerating housing construction and major development projects.

The Kelowna event is expected to bring together Conservative candidates and supporters from across the Okanagan as the party works to build momentum heading into election day.
