Chambers, who leads the local science centre’s efforts to make science accessible, engaging and relevant to people across the Okanagan, was elected at a time when science organizations across Canada pursue efforts to engage communities in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

“It’s an honour to bring a rural and regional voice to the national table,” Chambers said.

“I am looking forward to helping build a stronger, more connected science centre network across Canada. This is a great opportunity to help give young people a clear path into science and technology careers, wherever they live.”
