Fuel Good Day a success, raised money for good causes

People showed up in droves to support local groups while also filling up their vehicles.

Fuel Good Day went Tuesday, which saw 10 cents from every litre of fuel sold at a Co-op gas station go towards a good cause.

In Vernon, the two stations raised a combined $12,727 for the Special Olympics Vernon.

The Armstrong location also raised $2,318 for the Armstrong 1st Scouts Group.

Fuel Good Day held in other communities, which saw $4,593 collected for the Sicamous-based Eagle Valley Rescue Society, and $1,661 for the Cranbrook and Kimberley Hospice Society.

“The Armstrong Regional Co-op is proud to give back and get behind local initiatives that are working to address the needs of our community,” Jason Keis, Marketing & Community Relations Manager with ARC, stated. 

“Thank you to our members and customers for the support you’ve shown during Co-op Fuel Good Day. Once again, it’s amazing to see what we can accomplish when we all work together.”

Fuel Good Day was also celebrated at Co-op stations across B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northwestern Ontario, with the stations collecting funds for their charity or cause of choice.
