Kelowna council election features one slate of candidates

While many of the 37 candidates for next month’s Kelowna council election have similar campaign messages only one set of them have declared as a slate.

Four independent candidates have a shared platform under the name BRACE for Change: entrepreneurs Humberto Morales, JC Rathwell, and Cory Severin, plus health care worker Rob Wilkinson, said they are committed to practical leadership and transparent decisions.

They are among the unofficial list of all candidates released by the Chief Electoral Officer following the Friday, Sept.11 deadline.

The group said they’re bringing real-world experience and a new direction to Council with a focus on  safer streets, stronger local businesses, real help for homelessness, and stronger protection from wildfire, among other issues.
