Rutland man with addictions, homeless experience running for Kelowna council

A Rutland resident is running for a seat on Kelowna council with a thrust on what he calls inequalities that have marginalized his neighborihood.

Chris Bocskei said Rutland, the city’s largest and most vibrant neighborhood, has sat on the sidelines of major decisions at City Hall for too long.

A major part of his campaign focus is what he’s called “civic inequality” and how Rultand consistently gets left behind. Bocskei has had past struggles with addiction and homelessness.

He said he is not running to build a political career, but wants Rutland to stop being left behind in terms of investment.
