Armstrong Councillor looking to serve second term

An Armstrong councillor will look to retain his seat for the next four years.

Mark Wehner announced he will run in the fall municipal election.

“When I first ran for council, my goal was to help foster the strong sense of community that makes Armstrong such a great place to live. I also wanted to ensure our infrastructure and services were in healthy shape for the next generation,” Wehner stated in a release.

“That goal hasn’t changed.

“Over the past four years, serving on council has given me an even greater appreciation for the opportunities and challenges facing our community. I have tried to approach each issue by doing my homework, asking questions and listening to residents. I believe it is important to consider the long-term impact of the decisions we make.”

He went on to say more needed to be done to serve the residents of Armstrong, and felt that his experience from the past four years would allow him to make positive contributions towards that work.

Votes will be cast in the local general election Oct. 17.
