Sherman has lived in the area since the early 1970’s and during that time spent 20 years as owner of a local hardware store and also worked in the forestry industry, honing her skills in financial services and safety management.

She is also very involved in the community, serving as lead of the Area D Emergency Sign Project, a director with the Lumby & District Health Services Society, Vice President of Lumby Days, and serving the Lumby & District Seniors Housing Society. She ‘s also been a member of the Area D Advisory Planning Council since 2017, and recently took on the director’s role with the Charles Bloom Secondary School Woodlot.

Sherman is also familiar with local politics as her father, James Richardson, served as Area D Director for two terms int he 1970s.

The local general election is on Oct. 17.
