For people south of Head of the Lake, immediately proceed to the Emergency Support Reception Centre at the Westbank Lions Club address is (2466 Main Street), West Kelowna.

This Evacuation Order has been issued because of current and anticipated fire behaviour. It is necessary to protect public safety and to allow firefighters and emergency personnel to carry out fire suppression and structure protection activities.

Residents should leave immediately, taking only essential items such as medications, identification, important documents, pets, and supplies needed for the next several days.

The Okanagan Indian Band EOC continues to work closely with the BC Wildfire Service, RCMP, BC Emergency Health Services, and other emergency response partners.

Update 6 p.m. Saturday

In a rapidly changing situation Saturday afternoon, the Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), issued a series of Evacuation Orders due to the expanding Bradley Creek Wildland Fire (K41351).

The fire, which was initially estimated at 100 hectares early Saturday morning had grown to over 1,000 hectares by 6 p.m.

There was also an expansion of Evacuation Alerts further to the northwest.

Environment Canada had earlier issued a special weather statement warning of strong southwest winds across the Southern Interior which were expected to gust up to 70km/h to 80km/h into the evening. Local wind directions could vary, the agency said.

An update at just after 6 p.m. called on those to evacuate immediately if you are located in Head of the Lake and properties affected by Bradley Creek Wildfire. The Bradley Creek Wildfire is creating a significant risk to life.

The wildfire has jumped Westside road.

If you are north of the wildfire evacuate immediately NORTH to Kal Tire Place in Vernon.

If you are south of the wildfire evacuate immediately SOUTH to Westbank Lions Club at 2466 Main Street, West Kelowna.

If you are unable to evacuate call 9-1-1.

Two Emergency Support Service (ESS) Centres have been set up to assist people displaced due to the Bradley Creek Wildland Fire (K41351).

People north of Newport should make there way to Head of the Lake Hall. Emergency Support Services (ESS) has been established at the 118 Head of the Lake Hall, to provide assistance to evacuees.

Traffic south of Newport, should make their way to Westbank Lions Club. Emergency Support Services (ESS) has been established at 2466 Mainstreet, West Kelowna.

The Okanagan Indian Band Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), has issued an Evacuation Order for all properties north of Mary Emerald Bay Road to Simila Road due to the Bradley Creek Wildland Fire (K41351).
