Canadiens trade Farrell to Ducks for Pastujov in swap of minor-league forwards

MONTREAL — The Montreal Canadiens traded Sean Farrell to Anaheim Ducks for fellow forward Sasha Pastujov in a minor-league swap Monday.

Pastujov, 23, produced 21 goals and 36 assists in 71 games with the American Hockey League’s San Diego Gulls last season.

The six-foot, 186-pound American has 48 goals and 77 assists in 160 career AHL games.

The Ducks selected Pastujov in the third round, 66th overall, at the 2021 NHL draft.

Farrell had 17 goals and 36 assists in 72 games with the AHL’s Laval Rocket last season. The five-foot-nine, 175-pound American had one goal in six career NHL games with the Canadiens.

Montreal selected the 24-year-old winger in the fourth round, 124th overall, at the 2020 draft.
