Salvation Army appoints new Community Engagement Coordinator

The local non-profit that supports people in need has a new person helping advance their efforts.

Teresa Durning has been appointed as the Salvation Army Vernon’s new Community Engagement Coordinator.

“The Salvation Army has earned the trust and respect of our community through its unwavering commitment to helping people in need,” Durning said.

“Their work extends far beyond providing immediate assistance. They build relationships, create opportunities, foster dignity, and strengthen the social fabric of our community. I am honoured to contribute to that mission.”

Under the role, Durning will lead efforts to foster collaboration between the non-profit and businesses , service organizations, volunteers and community members to ensure their work can grow and help as many people as possible.

“We are delighted to welcome Teresa to our team,” Major Ron Cartmell of Salvation Army Vernon said.

“Her enthusiasm, leadership, and commitment to community engagement will help strengthen our connections throughout Vernon and support our mission of serving people with compassion and dignity.”
