Delay in Kal Lake Road Project

The city of Vernon’s upgrade to Kalamalka Lake Road will be postponed as work dependent on BC Hydro is currently delayed.

Hydro poles have to be moved at the site, but Hydro crews have been busy responding to issues related to the wildfire crisis .

The City isn’t sure how long the delay will be.

The anticipated completion for Phase 1 is August 6.

Phase 2 and the road closure from Browne Road to the City boundary is currently scheduled to begin August 8, and continue until late October.

BC Hydro will be providing a further update regarding timelines to the City on July 21.
