Mission Creek Greenway to close temporarily for KLO bridge construction

The Mission Creek Greenway will be temporarily closed at KLO Road this month as work continues on the City of Kelowna’s KLO Road Bridge Replacement Project.

The closure, which runs from June 11 to June 26, will affect both sides of KLO Road, restricting public access through the area.

City of Kelowna says the shutdown is needed to allow crews to install a storm pipe that drains into Mission Creek and to complete work on an overflow irrigation ditch. The upgrades are designed to help manage water flow and reduce the risk of flooding by ensuring excess water is properly redirected back into the creek.

The City is advising residents to plan ahead and use alternate routes during the construction period. Officials note the timing of the closure may shift depending on site conditions, and visitors are asked to follow all posted signage.
