BBQ event to celebrate end of school year

Jun 10, 2026 | 6:01 AM

A free, family-friendly event will be held to mark the end of the school year and the onset of summer.

Ellison Elementary’s Parent Advisory Council will hold a barbecue event at the school from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11.

It will feature a number of activities for children, and if they participate and fill out a “Kid’s Passport” with stamps from the activity stations they can win a prize.

“We are so excited to welcome the community to our annual year-end event,” Tiffany Weatherbee from the Ellison PAC said.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to support our school and students while also celebrating the start of summer.”

There will also be a concession and a chance for people to donate to the PAC, with all of those proceeds going to support initiatives and resources for students and teachers.
