Debate continues over Central Okanagan economic strategy
RDCO defends regional economic model

The Regional District of Central Okanagan is defending its regional economic development system after recent public comments questioned how it operates.
In a statement, the RDCO says the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission is an advisory group, not a decision-making body, with final authority resting with elected officials.
“Leadership is not demonstrated by leaving the table. Leadership is demonstrated by improving the table,” said RDCO Chair Loyal Wooldridge in a news release.
The district says regional collaboration helps support investment, jobs, and long-term economic growth across the Central Okanagan.
