Highway 1 reopens in B.C. Interior after overnight landslide closure
REVELSTOKE — A landslide shut down Highway 1 in the British Columbia Interior for hours before crews were able to reopen the key road link.
The provincial Ministry of Transportation’s DriveBC information site says the route reopened at 10:23 a.m. after it was closed between Revelstoke and Golden around 8 p.m. Thursday.
The closure was due to a landslide west of Skunk Cabbage Boardwalk in Mount Revelstoke National Park, just east of Revelstoke.
That section of Highway 1 is among a number of roads affected by wet conditions in the Interior.
