West Kelowna’s Urban Revitalization

May 28, 2026 | 10:19 AM

The City of West Kelowna wants public input on refreshing the current Westbank Centre Revitalization Plan.

It’s 15 years old and there’s been growth, investment, and improvements since then including a new City Hall, upgrades to parks and transit.

Since the 2011 plan, the City has made significant investments to support West Kelowna’s downtown and lay the groundwork for a more vibrant urban centre.

An online public survey is open until June 17th regarding what is working, what needs improvement, and what matters most moving forward.

Visit OurWK.ca/westbankcentre to fill out the survey. The survey will be open until June 17.

  • Civic hub: City Hall now anchors the urban centre
  • Parks and public spaces: Upgrades to Memorial Park, Springer Park, and other sites have added amenities, gathering spaces, and trail connections
  • Transportation: A transit exchange, rapid bus service, and some sidewalk improvements have strengthened mobility
  • Planning framework: Completion of the Parking Strategy and adoption of the Official Community Plan and other strategies to align future growth
  • Public realm: Some wayfinding and streetscape improvements have enhanced the look and function of the area
