PARKSVILLE — B.C. Highway Patrol says a man is facing six charges after a crash injured two adults and a baby more than a year ago.

Police say that on March 3, 2025, a Chevrolet pickup and a Toyota Prius collided head on in the northbound lanes of Highway 19 in Parksville on Vancouver Island.

A statement says both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries as did the baby in the Toyota.

Police say the crash “nearly led to tragedy.”

A 28-year-old man from Saanich, B.C., was arrested this March and charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.

He has also been charged with two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08 causing bodily harm.
