Lazar Resigns With Flames
Vernon hockey product Curtis Lazar has resigned with the Calgary Flames for two years which TSN says is worth $950,000 per season.
The 22 year old Lazar had been a restricted free agent.
“Thrilled to resign with the @NHLFlames it’s going to be a fun year and can’t wait to play in front of the #CofRed,” said Lazar on his Twitter feed
He netted one goal and three assists in 37 games with the Ottawa Senators and the Flames last season.
He played in one playoff game as the Flames were swept by the Anaheim Ducks in the opening round.
The Sens sent Lazar and defenceman Michael Kostka to the Flames at the trade deadline for defenceman Jyrki Jokipakka and a 2017 second-round draft pick.
Ottawa selected the former Edmonton Oil King junior and Team Canada world junior captain 17th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft.
Lazar has 13 goals and 26 assists over 180 career NHL games.
