North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS), has been operating for 25 years and is marking the milestone with a fundraiser.

The society that supports people with end-of-life care was formed in 2001 with a four-bed facility. Since then, NOHS has expanded to operating a 12-bed facility as well as providing grief supports, Hospice at Home services, and social work support.

“For 25 years, this house has been a place of comfort, dignity, and care,” Megan Cox, Executive Director of NOHS, said.

“The commitment of our staff, volunteers, and supporters, some of whom have been here since day one, is what makes this milestone so meaningful.”

To mark the milestone year, NOHS will hold a Burger & Beer fundraiser at The Match Public House April 21. People can pre-book their spot online here.

Additionally, NOHS will be celebrating three volunteers: Christine Mortimer, Susan Ruck, and Janet Armstrong, who joined the society at its onset and continue to volunteer with the organization 25 years later.
