Mar 2, 2026 | 2:45 PM

Vernon’s gas prices have stayed steady despite the attacks on Iran and the suspected surge in oil prices.

GasBuddy said the average price for regular gasoline in Vernon was $1.35.9 Monday, March 2. That was unchanged from Sunday’s prices, though was up four cents from the previous week.

In Kelowna, the average price actually fell 10 cents on a daily comparison to $1.39.9 Monday. However, that was still up 18 cents from the previous week.

GasBuddy said B.C.’s average regular gasoline price was $1.56.9 Monday. That was up one cent from the previous day, but down 2.1 cents from the week prior.

Canada’s national average gasoline price was also recorded at $1.35.9 Monday, up 1.5 cents from the day before and up four cents on a weekly comparison.

Canadian Press reported that both Israel and the United States increased the intensity of their attacks on Iran over the weekend, resulting in disruptions to tanker traffic that caused a surge to energy prices.
