Crews will be resuming work on a significant infrastructure project in Vernon next week.

Starting Monday, March 2, work will resume on the 43rd Avenue Corridor Improvement Project, a key transportation initiative aimed at supporting the growing community and enhancing connections to the new Active Living Centre.

The work will involve upgrading underground utilities, completing a new multi-use pathway, improving intersections, and enhancing traffic control features.

“Once finished, the corridor will offer smoother vehicle movement, safer walking and cycling routes, and improved access to nearby neighbourhoods and amenities,” the City of Vernon said in a release.

The work will result in traffic being reduced to a single alternating lane, and motorists were advised to slow down follow all directions from traffic control personnel.

The 43rd Avenue Corridor Improvement Project was expected to be completed over the summer.
