Snow warning issued for Highway 3, difficult travel expected

Drivers travelling along Highway 3 are being warned to prepare for challenging conditions as a snow warning remains in effect for multiple mountain passes.
Environment Canada has issued the warning for the stretch of Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass, as well as from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass. Forecasters say 15 to 25 cm of snow could fall over the course of the day.
The weather agency says heavy snowfall, blowing snow and poor visibility are expected to make travel difficult, particularly through the morning hours. Rapid snow accumulation could also lead to slippery road conditions and delays.
Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans if possible, allow extra time and ensure their vehicles are properly equipped for winter driving. Conditions are expected to gradually improve later in the day as snowfall tapers off.
