Addiction Service Hotline

New hotline opens for addictions care in Interior, B.C.

Jan 15, 2026 | 6:00 AM

People in need of addictions treatment have new hotlines to call to get the support they need.

The B.C. Government said it opened Access Central, a clinical phone line service, for all health authorities so people can get timely, personalized addictions care through a single point of entry that connects people with health providers.

The addictions hotline offered through Interior Health is 1-866-777-1103, and operates daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Access Central can provide people with same or next-day clinical screening and assessments; placement in a withdrawal management/detox bed or outpatient service, according to medical need; initiation of opioid agonist therapy or anti-craving medications for alcohol use; and ongoing support throughout the withdrawal and recovery journey.

“Recognizing that every person’s recovery journey is different, Access Central prioritizes timely access to services by matching health care to a patient’s current needs,” Sylvia Weir, president and CEO of Interior Health, said.

“This new pathway to care strengthens transitions and removes barriers so individuals can engage in appropriate care when it matters most.”

Access Central first launched in Greater Vancouver in October 2023, and to date has fielded 34,583 calls and clinically assessed 9,210 clients for withdrawal management.

“Supports like Access Central make a real difference for people on their road to recovery,” Josie Osborne, Minister of Health, stated.

“Recovery isn’t straightforward, which is why we’re taking action to strengthen addictions care across B.C. We’re building a full continuum of addictions care, from early intervention to treatment, recovery and aftercare. Road to Recovery meets people where they are and connects them to timely, appropriate and culturally safe services.”
