Penticton RCMP investigate sexual assault

Penticton RCMP say bystanders who observed a sexual assault in progress, intervened and restrained the suspect until officers arrived.

The incident occurred on December 22, at approximately 5:48 p.m. The victim was assaulted in the 200-block of Orchard Avenue.

Josiah Foisy has been charged with sexual assault and assault. He remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.

The victim was transported to hospital for medical assessment.
