Kelowna spends $28M on properties for ‘world class hotel and marina’
The City of Kelowna has forked out almost $ 28-million for three high-profile properties on the waterfront that will be developed into a world class hotel and marina.
The properties are on Pandosy Street, as well as Queensway and Bernard Avenues.
The City said it has undertaken a comprehensive market analysis and believes there is national, if not global interest in this premier waterfront hotel site. The development will happen in the next three to five years.
The $27.8 million dollar purchase is intended to be funded by borrowing, with no impact on taxation, the City said.
