Downtown road to be temporarily closed for Cultural Centre infrastructure work

A road through Vernon’s downtown core will be temporarily closed to accommodate some infrastructure work.

The City of Vernon said 31st Avenue, between 29th and 30th Streets, will be closed to vehicle traffic starting Tuesday, October 14. The closure is needed to install utility infrastructure for the new Greater Vernon Cultural Centre.

The work is expected to be completed by October 26.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during this period, with the city saying measures will be in place to ensure public safety during the work. Businesses will also be able to remain open during the work.
