The Okanagan Science Centre in Vernon is getting a funding boost.

The Emily Dahl Foundation has made a $1,000 donation to the science centre, which provides a space for people of all ages to explore their scientific inquiry through interactive learning experiences.

“The Emily Dahl Foundations’ support of the Okanagan Science Centre is wonderful. This gift aligns perfectly with the goal of having Emily’s energy spread throughout the Vernon community where she was born and spent her amazing eighteen years. We are pleased to be the organization that makes this happen for The Emily Dahl Foundation,” Leanne Hammond, Executive Director of Community Foundation North Okanagan, said in a release.

“We are deeply grateful to The Emily Dahl Foundation for this generous gift,” Dione Chambers, Executive Director of the Okanagan Science Centre, added.

“Emily’s legacy will continue to inspire youth in our community, and this donation will help us continue creating meaningful, hands-on science experiences that spark imagination and connect people, especially young learners to the beauty and possibilities of science and discovery.”

The Emily Dahl Foundation noted in the release that the vision for the Okanagan Science Centre, located next to Polson Park at the intersection of Highway 6 and 25th Avenue, was to have a space where scientific discovery was available to residents and visitors of all ages, adding the science centre had maintained that committment and continues to thrive in making that vision a reality.
