Two people were injured in a car crash just outside Vernon’s downtown core Wednesday morning.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said officers responded to a report of a three-car collision on Highway 6 near 25th Avenue around 7:30 a.m., August 27.

A vehicle was reportedly turning right from 25th Avenue onto Highway 6 when it crossed over the centre-line and collided with a vehicle stopped in traffic and waiting in the turning lane.

The first vehicle then collided head on with another vehicle.

Two of the drivers in the affected vehicles were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The RCMP said the driver of the first vehicle was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for Driving Without Due Care and Attention.

All three vehicles were damaged and needed to be towed from the scene.
