The MP for Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee has given up his business.

Elephant Services said in a release that it has acquired the assets of Dump Runz, the junk removal business previously owned by Scott Anderson.

Elephant Services, a family-owned local company that has been operating for over 20 years in the North Okanagan, said Anderson decided to exit the business after a decade of running it to focus on his work in Parliament.

“Starting Dump Runz was about more than just hauling junk – it was about serving people with honesty, hard work, and respect,” Anderson said in the release.

“That’s what built our reputation over the last 10 years, and that’s exactly what I see in Elephant Services. I couldn’t be more confident that I’ve handed things over to a team that shares those same values and has deep roots in this community. While I’ve stepped away from the company, I remain fully committed to serving the people of our community as their representative in Ottawa.”

Dump Runz will continue to operate independently from Elephant Premium Bins, but will build on the other operations run by the company including self-storage, mobile storage, garbage bin rentals, and vehicle care.

“For over 20 years, we’ve built Elephant Services on the belief that serving people starts with trust, consistency, and a desire to help people,” Wade Cantalope, Founder and Owner of Elephant Services, stated.

“When we learned that Scott was stepping away from Dump Runz, we saw an opportunity – not just to grow, but to preserve a local business built on the same values that drive us. This acquisition isn’t about changing what worked; it’s about keeping it in the hands of people who care about this community. We’re proud to carry that legacy forward, and to continue earning the trust of the North Okanagan, one customer at a time.”

The company added it remained committed to upholding the same quality of service Dump Runz customers experienced in the past.
