Flood Mitigation Work

Flood mitigation work being planned for Lavington Wetland

Aug 25, 2025 | 3:51 PM

A flood mitigation project will be going ahead at the Lavington Wetland.

The District of Coldstream has been successful in an application for a Water Conservation and Quality Improvement Grant from the Okanagan Basin Water Board.

A report to Coldstream Council said the $25,000 grant had been set aside to do the flood mitigation work to reduce the risk of future events at the Lavington Wetland, including lowland flooding and issues with silt and sediments entering Kalamalka Lake.

Associated Environmental had already been contracted to undertake the project, and had completed the field work and was in the process of developing a draft plan as of Monday, August 25.
