Work to Impact Parking Availability

Cultural Centre work to begin Tuesday

The first stages of building the new museum and cultural hub in Vernon will begin Tuesday.

The City of Vernon says construction of the Greater Vernon Cultural Centre, led by the Regional District of North Okanagan, will begin at the site of the parking lot on 31st Avenue, across from the bus depot, on August 25.

The work will require the parking lot to be partially closed.

The city reminds residents and visitors that there are other parking options in the downtown core for people to use, including the parkade, the lot at the library, road parking, and private parking lots.

It added that work would be done to inform downtown visitors and employees about the parking lot closure through signage, online updates, and other communications to ensure people are well-informed and supported through the construction period.
