Jul 16, 2025 | 4:28 PM

One person was taken to hospital following a collision on Highway 97 south of Vernon.

Emergency Health Services says paramedics were called to the scene of the crash near Bailey Road at 12:13 p.m. Tuesday, July 16.

“An ambulance with primary care paramedics responded to the scene,” Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites, said.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition.”

The crash reportedly caused southbound traffic to be backed up through the afternoon, though DriveBC was not indicating any slowdowns on the highway as of time of publication.

EHS did not say how many cars were involved in the crash, and the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP did not immediately respond to Vernon Matters’s request for comment.
