O’Keefe Ranch wins Next Great Save competition

The historic ranch in the North Okanagan will be getting a financial boost.

O’Keefe Ranch was named the winner of the Next Great Save campaign, and as winners, the Ranch will be awarded $50,000 to be used for maintenance of its Ranch Mansion building.

This will allow for the structure to continue to be used to educate visitors about local and Canadian history, dating back to 1867. It will also allow for accessibility upgrades to be made to the Mansion, making it more functional for hosting additional educational and cultural events at the site.

O’Keefe Ranch was one of 12 finalists in the Next Great Save competition, which saw people from across Canada vote to help maintain the historic sites.

he runners-up in the contest were the Tam Kung Temple in Victoria, B.C. (second place, $10,000), and the Sharon Assembly Church in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia (third place, $5,000).
