COSAR resumes search for missing person following Westside Road landslide

The search for a missing person in the aftermath of the Reid Creek landslide along Westside Road resumed Thursday, with Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) teams returning to the site.

Ground crews and K9 units conducted extensive sweeps of the area, uncovering additional debris believed to be connected to the individual. However, no further signs of the missing person were located.

In a social media post on Wednesday, COSAR stated that search efforts are set to continue Thursday, with a specialized boat team deploying sonar and underwater camera equipment to survey the surrounding waters.

RCMP remain actively involved in the investigation, pursuing multiple leads as the search operation continues.

Officials expressed gratitude to AIM Roads, Chute Creek Construction, and the RCMP for their ongoing assistance and support in the multi-day effort.
