Trial date set for man charged with assault, uttering threats

A man arrested on warrants in Vernon will be in court for two different files in the coming weeks.

Dale Babiy, who was wanted on assault and uttering threat charges, was arrested following the deployment of a spike strip and a foot chase in Vernon on December 30, 2024.

Babiy appeared in Vernon Law Courts Wednesday, Jan. 8, where a trial was set for February 5, 2025. Babiy will face one charge of assault with a weapon and two counts of uttering threats in relation to the warrants.

Babiy was also charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, flight from police, and driving while prohibited in connection with the arrest.
