Posse end Knights KIJHL season with decisive game 7 win

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey season came to an end Monday night for the North Okanagan Knights.

The Princeton Posse shut out the Knights 7-0 in game 7 of their second round series in a game that featured a fight and several misconducts handed out in the third period.

The Posse, who finished first in the regular season, won the series four games to three and next take on the Revelstoke Grizzlies in the league semi-final, starting Friday in Princeton.

The Beaver Valley Nitehawks and Fernie Ghostriders will play in the other best of 7 semi-final, starting Friday in Beaver Valley.

The North Okanagan Knights got goals from Devin Jameson and Nolan Kelly in the third period for a come from behind 3-2 win over the Princeton Posse Saturday night in Armstrong.

The result tied their KIJHL divisional final series at 3, with game 7 set for Monday in Princeton.

Josh Hager made 41 saves in the North Okanagan net before 212 fans at the Nor-Val Centre.

Princeton took game 4 on Friday night 4-0, getting 26 saves from Joey Hawko.
