School buses involved in highway collision
RCMP say only minor injuries resulted after two school buses collided on the Trans Canada Highway near Salmon Arm.
Police officers and other emergency personnel were called to the scene of an accident involving two school buses on Highway 1 near Piers Point Road on Monday, Nov. 20 around 4 p.m.
“One school bus slowed in traffic and the other bus collided with the back of the first bus. There were only very minor injuries to the students on the bus, if any, and the students were checked by provincial ambulance before they boarded alternate buses to get them home,” Staff Sgt. Scott West said.
West said there were significant back-ups to traffic during the incident.
