Eric Nickoli

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Benjamin Nickoli on March 3, 2023 in Vernon, BC at the age of 92 years.
Eric was surrounded by family as he slipped away and we are heartbroken to lose him.
Eric was born June 23, 1930 to John and Erna Nickoli at Minitonas, Manitoba, and was the fourth of seven children.
His family moved to the Okanagan in 1947 and settled in Coldstream. Soon after Eric went to work at Vernon Box and Pine where he met his wife, Irene Briggs. The couple had four children; Tim, Judy, Ben, and Tammy.
When the box factory closed in 1965, Eric and his brother operated a fuel business together until 1971 when Eric went to work at Riverside Forest Products until he retired in 1995.
Eric was a hard worker and an avid gardener and we had many wonderful gatherings in his park-like yard. Eric was admired for his strength and spirit, and will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humor and twinkle in his eyes.
Eric is survived by his wife of almost 67 years Irene, sons Tim (Lynda) and Ben (Jeri), Daughter Tammy (Rick), one sister Ruby, grandchildren Jeremiah, Zachariah, Joshua, Shelby, Saleen, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Eric is predeceased by his daughter Judy, parents John and Erna, siblings Jerry, Jean, John, Rose and Joe.
Eric will be laid to rest at Coldstream Cemetery with family in attendance.
