In heavy sorrow we announce the passing of our deeply loved Byng Nichols Blackmore who suddenly, but without suffering, died in his home, which was filled with most of his immediate family, on the early morning of December 22nd 2022. His soul mate and best friend of almost 50 years as well as his children and almost all his grandchildren had spent his last few days with him having Christmas fun together.
He is loved and missed by his wife Bonnie (Nuyens), his children Logan (Stephanie) Blackmore and Kelsey (Lee) Robson as well as his pride and joy grandkids Tavon, Timber, Maverick, Taggart, Heidi, Lyla, Riggs, Chelan and Griffin.
He reunites with his parents Daniel Blackmore and Irma Wynder as well as his sister Teckla and unmet siblings Heather and Dexter. He was very loved and will be missed also by his remaining siblings Frazer, Penny, Zane, Vicky, Jack, Kazan and Kent. He will also be missed by many in-laws who loved him like their own, nephews & nieces who were very close to him, as well as close cousins and countless friends. He was very special to many people and rarely did anyone leave his presence without a new smile on their face from his charm and wit and constant sense of humor.
He moved to Vernon B.C. from Beazer Alberta as a young man and became very well known and highly respected throughout the area especially through his business Byng’s Heating and Air Conditioning.
There will be a celebration of life in the spring.
In keeping with his love of Louis L’amour books we found a quote from him that we feel fits well with Byng.
“When I die, remember that what you knew of me is with you always. What is buried is only the shell of what was. Do not regret the shell, but remember the man. Remember the father.” – Louis L’Amour
